Low and behold the Foxes found a shopping cart on the bluff. This led to lots of excitement about how to ride in the cart, how many kids can fit in the cart, what happens when the cart is loaded top-heavy, along with safety precautions such as having spotters on the side. The cart made it up to our spot where the Foxes used it during free time later in the day.
The Foxes are working on their map reading skills. As a group we worked on a map of the bluff using landmarks to situate ourselves. The concept of map making and reading is there, but it takes practice to orientate yourself in a space using a map. After some practice, we started another game of manhunter. This time we had bandits that could come and steal all of your tokens.
After lunch we made parachutes out of garbage bags. The Foxes had to practice following instructions, using measuring tapes and sharing the minimal tools that we had at the bluff. It took practice to learn how to launch them so that they would be caught by the wind.
After the parachutes the Foxes fell into imaginary play with the Phoenix Tool Forage and an intricate game of imagination and dance played by the pick up tree.
