We spent a good part of our day building snow forts for an epic snowball battle. Each team started piling up snow and packing it down to create solid walls. They quickly realised they needed to collect a lot of snow to build a sizeable fort so they kept working.
Once the forts were built, after a war council was held to outline the rules , the fun began: the battle. Snowballs were flying along with people as the snow was so slippery on the hill. One team invented snow cannonballs, large packed snowballs with the force of small boulders, that were effective in causing maximum damage to the walls of opposing forts and quickly adopted by the others.
No snow fort is invincible. Despite all the strategic planning, teamwork, and effort put into building and repairing the snow castles, the forts began to crumble, mainly due to the cannonballs and the agreement to kick and smash the forts. Seemed like the best bit for everyone as they wrestled each other on the snow mounds!
In the afternoon we met with the Cottontails for another epic snowball battle. They are as good at snowball fighting as they are at Revenge Tag!
Remember: We're meeting at Nosehill next class.
So many good pictures! Spring snow days are the best!
